Metering Current Transformers
Low-voltage watt-hour metering current transformers with high-accuracy options, on precision toroidal ring cores.
Overview
Low Voltage Watt-Hour Metering Current Transformers. High-Accuracy Options
The toroidal (ring shape) cores are wound from best quality grain-oriented silicon steel (GOSS) and annealed and then insulated to receive the secondary winding. They are precision wound with double enameled copper wire and encapsulated in an injection molded casing of thermoplastic polyester. Secondary terminals are compression-type brass with a 0.28” dia. cross hole and ¼”20 hex head clamp screws. A shorting device is engaged with a finger nut and enclosed inside a clear polycarbonate cover. The cover is secured with a knurled nut. A pilfer proof wire tag may be added if desired.
The metering CT’s meet applicable IEEE C57 ANSI and NEMA standards.
Both designs are available with high-accuracy, extended range, 0.15% class ratings. CT’s are bar coded, serial number marked and individually tested. Test reports are stored electronically and can be emailed to customers upon request.
